Many people come up to me and say that had they been there, they surely would have died. But it makes no sense, because until you’re in a… situation like that… you… you have no idea… how you’d behave. To be affronted by solitude without decadence or a… single material thing to prostitute it elevates you to a sprititual plane, where I felt the presence of God.
Now, there’s the God they taught about me about at school. And there is the God that’s hidden by what surrounds us in this civilization. That’s the God I met on the mountain.“
Nando: Between these mountains somewhere there’s a green valley. See those mountains over there? There’s no snow on them.
Roberto Canessa: Those mountains must be fifty miles away. You think you can walk fifty miles?
Nando: If we have to, we will.
Roberto Canessa: I can’t.
Nando: Yes you can.
Roberto Canessa: I can’t. I’m not as strong as you.
Nando: Do you know what it is that we’ve lived this long the way we have? Seventy days? It’s impossible. It’s impossible and we did it. I’m proud to be a man on a day like this. Alive. That I lived to see it, and see it in such a place. Take it in. I love you, man. It’s beautiful. It’s God. And it’ll carry us over every stone, I swear.
Retro-Tek
Posted in Uncategorized on July 8, 2009 by bonsaimanuFrom Wikipedia:”The 22nd century universe is centered around “tek“—an illegal, addictive, mind-altering digital drug. The drug has the effect of simulated reality (as shown in the films and series), and taps into “the matrix” hyperspace. The protagonist, Jake Cardigan is framed for dealing in the drug four years before the start of the story. Having been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment, he is released early.”
“Shatner began to write notes that would become the novels on the set of Star Trek V, and is quoted to say that the original book was an attempt to blend elements from Star Trek and T.J. Hooker. It may be noted that there are strong similarities between the story of the initial Tek novel (and TV pilot) and Ron Goulart’s 1985 novel, Brainz Inc., which involves a murder mystery involving an heiress who is presumed dead and her android duplicate, who shares her memories and personality. Unlike the Tek story, however, the earlier novel’s plot is played for humor.”
The TV movie is now playing on Sci Fi Channel, for those with glorius whatever plan on starhub Cable. Just watched it the other day, and it reeks of bad suits, cyber-tony soprano dialogue and more “i’m afraid of americans with computer technology” paranoia.
For comic geeks. i actually had this.
God bless Bless You Tube!
You really have to watch this, part McGuyver, part Blade Runnah, part Matrix, part Hard to Kill, part Mad Max, part Escape from LA, part nonsense Jargon throwing (tek this tek that tek shit tek that corp this corp that) and a soundtrack with squelchy TB bass lines. It totally beats Robocop’s OCP destroying wonderful detriot rock city…..
Sigh….. I wish i was River Phoenix in the Explorers…
hmmm… Why can’t i find lawnmower man anywhere? i really miss this film..
“Sony Pictures (Screen Gems division) was working on a new RoboCop film in late 2005. No details were revealed other than the unofficial (and confirmed) announcement. In November 2006, Bloody Disgusting reported that the RoboCop remake had been halted.
In March 2008, however, RoboCop was mentioned in an MGM press release regarding franchises it would be focusing on in the future. An MGM poster displayed at the Licensing International Expo of June 2008 read, “RoboCop coming 2010″. The studio has met with Darren Aronofsky to discuss the possibility of his directing the film. Aronofsky was confirmed as the director during G4’s live coverage of Comic-Con with David Self writing the script.”
You got to be fucking kidding me. This world really sucks.

“sung” by Marilyn Monroe in “River of no return”
(just watched it again after a long time, and it shocks me, how much of it has crept into me.)
When Mr South Wind sighs in the pines,
old Mr Winter whimpers and whines.
Down in the meadow, under the snow,
April is teaching green things to grow.
When Mr West Wind howls in a glade,
old Mr Summer nods in the shade.
Down in the meadow, deep in the brook,
catfish are waiting for the hook.
Old Lady Blackbird flirts with the scarecrow,
scarecrow is waving at the moon.
Old Mr Moon makes hearts everywhere go bump, bump,
with the magic of June.
When Mr East Wind shouts over head,
then all the leaves turn yellow and red.
Down in the meadow corn stocks are high
pumpkins are ripe and ready for pie.
Old Lady Blackbird flirts with the scarecrow,
scarecrow’s waving at the Moon.
Old Mr Moon makes hearts everywhere go bump-bump
with the magic of June.
When Mr North Wind rolls on the breeze,
old father Christmas trims over trees.
Down in the meadow snow shoftly gleams
earth goes to sleep and smiles in her dreams.
Knowing by heart.

“I’m singing this note ’cause it fits in well
With the chords I’m playing
I can’t pretend there’s any meaning
Hidden in the things I’m saying
I’ve got it all here in my head
There’s nothing more needs to be said
I’m just bangin’ on my old piano
I’m getting in tune with the straight and narrow”

Posted in Uncategorized on June 29, 2009 by bonsaimanuMy heart, home of the brave
washing machine tumbling and rumbling.
Enough to get myself going on that bus
to somewhere i can never imagine
no matter how naked we can be
Father, among you, within you, but never without you.
Father, I present to you, this week’s raw beige litany.
Father, find me, among myself. Find the end of the yarn and draw me closer to the other end.
“Readying to bury your father and your mother,
What did you think when you lost another?
I used to wonder why did you bother,
Distanced from one, blind to the other?
Listen here, my sister and my brother
What would you care if you lost the other?
I always wonder why did we bother,
Distanced from one, deaf to the other”
-”Sweetness Follows”- R.E.M.
I am not deaf to you Father.

Before it goes away, on someone else’s tongue
Dribble bubble, supple rubber
Rising between the walls of my cheeks
Sway away, slowly, gracefully
Tap, tap lightly on my shoulder
In case of emergency, put on a new shirt
Sweat through with boisterious feats of adventure
It will end up moistening your petals
